This Privacy Policy explains how Server Saver ("Server Saver", "the Bot", "we", "us", or "our") collects, accesses, uses, stores, and deletes information obtained through Discord when you use Server Saver.

This Privacy Policy applies to Server Saver and its associated services.

2. Information Server Saver Processes

Server Saver processes information made available through Discord's APIs that is necessary to provide its functionality.

Depending on how the Bot is configured and used, this may include:

Server Information

• Discord server ID;
• Server name;
• Server icon;
• Server banner;
• Channel IDs and names;
• Category information;
• Role IDs and names;
• Role hierarchy;
• Role permissions;
• @everyone permissions;
• Permission overwrites;
• Server configuration.

This information is required for features such as backups and restoration.

User and Member Information

Server Saver may process limited Discord information relating to members, including:

• Discord user ID;
• Username or display name;
• Server roles;
• Information necessary to identify the actor responsible for a security or moderation event;
• Information contained in relevant Discord audit-log events accessible to the Bot.

Security and Moderation Information

Server Saver may record events such as:

• Bans;
• Kicks;
• Channel deletions;
• Role deletions;
• Role creations;
• Dangerous permission changes;
• Anti-nuke triggers;
• Whitelist configuration;
• Bot whitelist configuration;
• Moderation actions.

These records are used to provide Server Saver's moderation and anti-nuke functionality.

3. Message Content

Server Saver requests Discord's Message Content Intent.

Server Saver's documented functionality does not use message history as part of its backup and restoration system.

Server administrators should nevertheless understand that enabling Discord's Message Content Intent may make certain message-related information available to the Bot through Discord's API where required for its functionality.

Server Saver does not use Discord message content to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

If this changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such processing is introduced where required by applicable law and Discord policy.

4. Backups

When an administrator uses /backup, Server Saver stores a snapshot of supported server configuration.

A backup may contain:

• Server name;
• Server icon;
• Server banner;
• Categories;
• Channels;
• Roles;
• Role permissions;
• @everyone permissions;
• Permission overwrites;
• Other configuration necessary for supported restoration functionality.

Server Saver's current storage implementation keeps up to five versioned backups per server.

Backups do not contain message history or member-specific permission overwrites because these cannot reliably be recreated by Server Saver.

5. Exported Backups

Administrators can use /exportbackup to generate a JSON backup file.

Exported files are provided to the administrator and may be stored or shared outside Server Saver.

Once an administrator downloads an exported backup, the administrator is responsible for how that file is stored, shared, and protected.

Server Saver cannot control copies of exported files that are stored outside infrastructure under our control.

6. Imported Backups

Administrators may use /importbackup to upload a previously exported JSON backup.

Imported backup information is processed so that it can be stored and used by Server Saver's restoration functionality.

Administrators should only upload backups that they are authorized to use.

7. Local Database Storage

Server Saver uses a SQLite database to store information required for its operation.

The current implementation stores information including:

• Server configuration;
• Administrator whitelist information;
• Bot whitelist information;
• Versioned backups;
• Anti-nuke trigger history.

The database is created and maintained as part of the Bot's operation.

8. How We Use Information

Information processed by Server Saver is used to:

• Provide requested Bot functionality;
• Create and restore server backups;
• Detect potentially destructive activity;
• Execute configured anti-nuke protections;
• Perform moderation actions;
• Maintain moderation and security logs;
• Identify actors involved in security events;
• Maintain administrator and bot whitelists;
• Provide server status information;
• Diagnose technical problems;
• Prevent abuse and protect the Service;
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use Discord API data for unrelated purposes.

9. Anti-Nuke Notifications and Logs

When an anti-nuke event is detected, Server Saver may:

• Record the event;
• Post the event in the configured log channel;
• Take automated protective action;
• Notify members with Administrator permission through Discord;
• DM the server owner or relevant administrators where supported by the Bot's functionality.

The information contained in these notifications may include information about the detected action and the Discord user responsible for it.

10. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or license Discord user data.

We may share or permit access to information only where necessary for operating Server Saver, complying with law, or protecting the Service.

This may include trusted service providers such as:

• Hosting providers;
• Database or storage providers;
• Infrastructure providers;
• Monitoring or logging providers.

Service providers may process information only as necessary to provide services to Server Saver.

We may also disclose information where required by applicable law or where reasonably necessary to:

• Respond to valid legal requests;
• Protect Server Saver;
• Investigate abuse;
• Prevent fraud or security incidents;
• Protect our rights or the rights of others.

We do not provide Discord API data to advertising networks or data brokers.

11. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Server Saver's stated functionality, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

Backups

The current Server Saver implementation retains up to five versioned backups per server.

Older backups may be removed when the storage limit is reached or when otherwise deleted.

Anti-Nuke History

Anti-nuke trigger history may be stored as part of the server's configuration and security information.

Configuration

Server configuration and whitelist information may be retained while Server Saver is configured for the relevant server.

Specific retention periods may change as the Service develops.

Where Discord or applicable law requires deletion of API data, we will take appropriate steps to delete it unless retention is legally required.

12. Data Deletion

Server administrators may request deletion of Server Saver data associated with their server.

A deletion request may include:

• Server ID;
• The requester's Discord user ID;
• Information reasonably necessary to verify authority over the server.

Depending on the data and how it is stored, deletion may require manual processing.

We will delete information when required by applicable law or when it is no longer necessary for the stated functionality, subject to legitimate legal or security requirements.

Some information may need to be temporarily retained where necessary to:

• Comply with law;
• Prevent abuse;
• Resolve disputes;
• Protect the Service;
• Establish or defend legal claims.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights including:

• Accessing personal information we hold about you;

15. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed by Server Saver.

However, no online service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.

Server administrators are also responsible for protecting:

• Their Discord accounts;
• Bot permissions;
• Exported backup files;
• Server administrator accounts.

16. Discord

Server Saver operates through the Discord platform.

Discord independently processes information under its own Privacy Policy and Terms.

Discord also provides users with information about the data access of individual bots and applications through Discord's interface.

Server Saver does not control Discord's independent processing of information.

17. Children's Privacy

Server Saver is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.

Server Saver operates through Discord, and users must comply with Discord's applicable age requirements and policies.

We do not knowingly request unnecessary personal information from minors.

18. International Data Transfers

Depending on where Server Saver and its infrastructure are hosted, information may be processed or stored in countries outside your country of residence.

Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards will be used for international transfers.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when:
